Terms of Service - Captureze

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Captureze ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Captureze is a website screenshot monitoring service that allows users to schedule automatic screenshots of websites, detect visual changes, and receive notifications. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Monitor websites without authorization from their owners
Collect personal data without consent
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
Use the Service for any illegal or harmful purpose

5. Subscription and Payments

Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis. Except as set out in the Refunds section below, fees are non-refundable.

Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment for a paid plan. If you email support@captureze.com within 14 days of that payment, we refund it in full. Nothing is deducted for captures, storage or certificates already used, and we do not ask for a reason. We aim to reply within 2 business days.

The guarantee applies to the first payment on an account and covers that payment only. It does not apply to renewals, to subsequent payments after a plan change, or more than once per account. Beyond the guarantee you can cancel at any time and keep access for the rest of the period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate part-used periods.

Certificates of Capture issued before a refund remain publicly verifiable. A refund ends the subscription; it does not retract or invalidate evidence already produced.

Free Trial

A new account starts with a 7-day free trial with every Pro feature unlocked and usage at Starter limits. No payment card is required to start the trial, and we do not ask for one when it ends.

There is no free plan. When the trial ends without a subscription, you are not charged and no subscription starts automatically: scheduled capture stops until you subscribe. Your account, sites and settings are kept, Certificates of Capture you issued remain publicly verifiable, and your screenshots are kept as described under "How long screenshots are kept" below.

Plan Changes

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately and the price difference is prorated. On a downgrade, sites over the new plan's limit are kept in your account rather than deleted.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Captureze and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Screenshots you capture are your property.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of your data and screenshots.

How long screenshots are kept

While you have an active subscription or trial, we do not delete your screenshots: there is no retention limit on any plan. When your subscription or trial ends, we keep your screenshots for a further 365 days, then delete them permanently. We email you 30 days and 7 days before that date, and delete nothing until at least 7 days after the final notice. Subscribing again before then keeps everything, and you can download your whole archive as a single file at any time from your account settings.

Screenshots saved to your own storage are never deleted by us; only our records of them are. Certificates of Capture remain publicly verifiable after the screenshot file is deleted.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Captureze shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
